Whistleblower Reports - Receiving and responding to reports of suspected Improper Governmental Activity and other wrongdoing, which involves:

• Providing information on how to report suspected Improper Governmental Activity and publishing the Whistleblower Poster;
  
  
• Maintaining the UCLA Compliance Hotline for the reporting of suspected Improper Governmental Activity;
  
  
• Coordinating actions of the Investigations Work Group, including managing investigations in response to reports of suspected Improper Governmental Activity and other wrongdoing;
  
  
• Coordinating reports made of suspected Improper Governmental Activity to the UC Office of the President.
  

Whistleblower Retaliation Complaints - Coordinating the University's response to complaints alleging retaliation for having reported suspected Improper Governmental Activity or for having refused to carry out an illegal order, which involves:

• Providing information on how to file a Whistleblower Retaliation Complaint;
  
  
• Receiving Whistleblower Retaliation Complaints, determining whether they qualify for consideration under the Whistleblower Protection Policy and coordinating the investigation and resolution of such complaints.
  

HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act) Compliance - Coordinating implementation of the HIPAA requirements for protecting the privacy of medical patients' health information for campus entities that fall outside the oversight of the UCLA Health System Office of Compliance & Privacy. These campus entities include the School of Public Health, School of Nursing, School of Dentistry, Arthur Ashe Student Wellness Center, Student Psychological Services, Psychology Clinic, Emergency Medical Services (UCPD), and Campus Human Resources.
